Help Tablet freeze on the logo screen

Hi ! Recently I've stumbled with a problem with an Vonino Navo P tablet. The thing is it's not booting. As long as I press the power button it freezes to the logo screen (not animated).
I've also noticed if I plug it in, only the battery charging symbol is showing (again, not animated, not an procent, just that icon).
I've tried draining the battery (by leaving it with the logo symbol on). When plugged, it would show a red empty battery icon for a while before getting black (but it charges).
I am able to enter recovery menu (also tried an Factory Reset, nothing).
Also from what I've understood (not my tablet, a relative's), it's also stuck with an Factory Reset Protection, but there isn't important data on it so green to wipe. The FRP is another problem, but for now how to fix the freezing ? Should I flash the tablet with his software or something ? (telling you from start, I'm unfamiliar with terms as flashing)
I've found files for the tablet's firmware, if that helps (on their site).
Not rooted

If the manufacturer is providing the firmware for download, they should also provide instructions on how to flash it to your device. You might be able to do it with fastboot, but frankly I've never seen one of those and it could be anyone's guess on the proper procedure.

It does sound like your tablet's system has problems and flashing the factory firmware is usually the safest way to recover.

Well, good thing I'm on the right track :) Yes, I've menaged to find some instructions on flashing (more precisely Using the smartphone flash tool) (literally the name of the software, SP Flash Tool)
Point is I'm a bit scared that Vonino didn't provided the correct instructions (it's nearly a ghost brand of phones/tablets, I barely found something about it).
So, I have a few questions :
1. If something after the flash takes a wrong turn (for example, the freeze persists), do I have a second shot or is there the risk of the tablet being completely bricked (even at the recovery menu) ?
2. Although Vonino site provided me instructions for an smartphone flash tool, the download like got me an write link (SN Writer). Should I use just the flash one as it says in the instructions (found it easily, the same) or is the SN Writer necesary ?
3. If I'm using the flash one, the pictures show an .txt file, and I've got an .img one. Should I use something else, or change something ?
Sorry for the many (probably noob) questions, I'm literally new to firmware on androids, and I don't want to **** everything up. Thanks in advance.

I can only speak generally, as I said, I've never seen a Vonino device of any kind.

SP Flash Tool is specific to the phone, so if the instructions you found weren't specifically for a Vonino tablet ... and more importantly, your EXACT model, then it's not what you want. There is no universal process for flashing Android firmware, so be careful that you use the one specifically for your device.

Is this the firmware you found?

I tried extracting it, but it says the .img file isn't a valid disk image.

Are these the instructions you found? It might be easier to verify the process and walk you through it.

If something goes wrong, it could go VERY wrong and brick your device, or it could simply fail to update anything and you'll be right back where you are now. Without ever having flashed that device, it's uncertain how many safeguards they built in. Since you say it's a "ghost brand" I would guess not too many.

The instructions are the ones I found. The firmware, although I've downloaded them directly from the site, yes, the same.
Bad thing we can't just apply the .img with an universal software. Thanks for making me understand this process.
Btw, I'm putting here an photo with the Recovery menu (thought it may help to know the version, or how it looks)

Down it says "Supported API:3" if it's blurry. Also ignore the Family guy on the TV :D

I've been browsing around their ftp site and found several different, but similar sets of instructions that all say you must select the scatter file from the folder where you unzipped the firmware file you downloaded. The problem being the the firmware download contains a single .img file. I've tried looking into that using various methods but I keep getting message that it's corrupt. If I try to burn it to a disk, it tells me that it's not a valid disk image.

Yours isn't the only model that has an .img file as the solitary download. All I can think is that either they left out a very important step to extract the files from that .img file ot the file on the ftp site is corrupt.

In any case, there's not much anybody can do without the firmware files in the proper state. Have you tried contacting Vonino support?

If you install this corrupt image file you'll surely have a brick on your hands ..

I'll start by saying I know nothing about the device so I don't really know but it could be that the file doesn't need to be extracted and you just need the correct program to flash the .img. From experience from my Samsungs, the efs file gets backed up as a .img file which can be flashed again if you have the right software.

I also have a feeling that TWRP saves the backups as .img so there's also the chance that the file's supposed to be flashed with your device's custom recovery system if it had one.

Have you tried contacting Vonino support?

Not yet, but if I can't fix it, the first choice would be to contact them or replace it.

I've googled fot that scatter file a bit, and not found anything at all... Just .img... But I've found a guide on how to mount an .ing on a Vonino. Sad part, it's a tablet but not the same model ( SpeedStar S ) (applies to Pipo U1 Pro as well) , and 2. I'm not too sure I've found the right thing ( rewrite ROM version it says, idk if that is what I need). But if it's good, it may be fit for the job (it was good for 2 tablets from Vonino, it may be good for this one )

RKBatchTool is the tool he used

http://www.pctablet.ro/rescriere-rom-tableta-vonino-speedstar-s/ (sadly in Romanian)

If you install this corrupt image file you'll surely have a brick on your hands ..

That's what I'm afraid of, unzipping doesn't work, and if I try to mount if with DAEMON Tools it tells me it's corrupted. And I've tried both the
ftp://ftp.vonino.org/public/Firmware/Vonino_Tablets/Navo_P/
and the site's firmware. Both corrupt.

Well, 1. It the firmware was good, the software I've found would had done the job ?
and 2. Is there anything left to try, or should I give up and start looking for replacement ?

I also have a feeling that TWRP saves the backups as .img so there's also the chance that the file's supposed to be flashed with your device's custom recovery system if it had one.

I can't get past the logo, so TWRP is out of question on this tablet. And for the recovery system, if that helps I've put here https://imgur.com/a/1JZUAh8 what the recovery menu shows, if that's what you mean.

I think it's time to contact Vonino about their contradictory flashing instructions and find out exactly what the .img file is and what you're supposed to do with it.

Well, this morning I've got an response from them, giving me this link :
ftp://ftp.vonino.org/public/Firmware/05_GENERAL_TOOL_ALLWINNER/
, for both the tool requierd for resofting (I hope it's the same as in our language :)) ) and the requierd firmware.

I'm still in doubt because of the corrupt image, but in the next days the guys from Vonino are gonna take the tablet for fixing and/or replacement, if they consider the warranty applies to multiple factory resets (the tablet has been bought about 2 weeks ago). But for anyone facing this problem, that should be the solution (I'm not gonna say it works 100%, that brand is just bad).

One last edit on the result of the tablet check, soon.

EDIT : (should had responded sooner but it's not a big update) They got it fixed up, no problem ^-^ But thank you all for the support :3

Well that explains the .img file.

"Phoenixsuit is a small tool that allows you to flash stock firmware (img) on Allwinner CPU based smartphone and tablets."

It also explains windows reporting it as a corrupt file since it's an image of an Android partition and not a disk or CD/DVD.

Since the tablet is so new, i would suspect the problem lies in faulty memory, which is why the system became unbootable. You could try flashing it, and it might work, but I'd let the warranty crew have a go at it first.
