Tablet Suggestions

I posted this somewhere else, but it didn't get replies, and I don't know how to delete a post. Sorry for a duplicate :(

My Aunt is in the market for a tablet for her daughter, (my cousin). She wanted to buy one of my tablets, but im picky and like to collect my nexus devices, so im not selling. Now, my cousin is profound meaning mentally deficient. My aunt is in the market for her to have a tablet so she can install applications on it to better communicate with her. For example, if she needs to go to the bathroom, she just taps the toilit and a vioce will say something like "I have to go to the bathroom." An app like this will make it easier for her to know what my cousin wants

I'm wondering if a tablet intended for kids might be a good choice here. The kind that's built to be durable under perhaps rough use. That way if it gets dropped, thrown, whatever, it won't be toast.

As for an app that does what you're saying, there may be 'accessibility' apps out there that would fit the bill. Or kids' apps that teach words. Or...? I don't know!

I might want to search and try out some apps too first just to see if Android has the kind of apps needed.

And/or reach out to communities of special-needs caregivers to see if they have recommendations, better tools or perhaps you can help build a tool that will help many more than just your Aunt and cousin.
