Take photo without logging onto phone ?

A common photo taking problem - By the time I've pressed 'Home' and logged in, it's sometimes too late to capture the moment :(

Is there any way of starting up the camera and taking a photo without having to log onto my phone ? I can make emergency calls without logging on, so wondering if I can launch an app in the same way.

This is one feature I really miss from my old SE Cybershot phone !

Logged in? You mean you have a password?

Use Agile Lock from the app store. It mimics the HTC Sense 3.0 lockscreen. Basically, you can have app shortcuts on the lockscreen which you open by dragging the circle at the bottom to those shortcuts.

I use Widgetlocker, but might take a look at that one later, thanks! :)

Thanks for the replies everyone.

I only switched to Android a few days ago, so a total beginner, hence my poor description of 'logging in'.

Yes, I do use a password. I'm prompted for it after unlocking the screen. I don't have any choice as it's enforced by my Exchange email account.

These apps look good, will try them.

I still can't believe how many good bits of software are available on Android, many if them free, and even if you do need to pay, it's peanuts. It's better than Palm ever was (various devices 2003 - 2008) and obviously much much better than Windows Mobile (my last phone).

You can also use this:
Lock Menu

OK, I went with this one, and it seems perfect so far.
The only issue is that when I use the unlock slider, it takes me to the other unlock slider that I was previously using, which then prompts me to log in.

So to clarify, I'm now faced with 2 unlock sliders. But I can probably live with that as I'm able to do the things I need (phone, photo, web) without unlocking....

Oh, I forgot about the other lock slider. Try using No Lock on it. Its free on the app store as well.

I changed from numerical to pattern password (in Android security settings) and I no longer get the 2nd unlock slider, just the pattern input screen, so all is perfect now. My only issue is that some of the default Lockmenu sliders were for apps that could link to Home and therefore bypass the password/pattern screen, for example, messages.

Thats quite the point of lockmenu though. I'd think you can remove them and change them to something else, or enable pattern locking for messages as well.
