Taking Photos

Just got my shiny new G2 yesterday and put in my pocket when I went out this morning, I've got a dropbox account and had the upload photos set to on, when I looked on the dropbox account, the G2 had taken 66 photos of the inside of pocket........ is there a problem or have I set something I shouldn't have....... btw turned off the upload photos until I find a reason why the phone did this.

Many thanks in advance for any replies
Cheers ............ Gerry N

How was the low-light, near-field performance of the camera? Could you see any lint or fabric patterns? :D

User Error? I think if you have the camera app up and running and you put it in your pocket, it will continue to take snaps if something contacts the screen. There's no special accessing of the proximity or light-level sensors that I know of to inhibit the camera.

Just some black boxes that's all. the file size was about 2mb for each of the 66 "photos". I'll make sure the camera app isn't on when I put it into y pocket, I've got a wallet folder for it coming so hopefully that will stop the down key on the back from being pressed as I think that's what may have happend

Thanks for the help.

Oh, the down button. Forgot about that. Well, I have a case on mine (Tudia UltraSlim), and it's not really possible to activate the buttons while it's in my pants pocket.

The proximity/light sensor is supposed to prevent pocket pictures (you can test by holding your thumb over the sensor (top left near the LED, front camera, etc) and trying to turn your camera on with a long press of volume down. The screen should not turn on using shortcuts, knock-on or even the power button (well, the power button does turn it on for a second but shuts it off immediately). Let us know if the camera or screen turns on for you while the proximity/light sensor is covered.

Maybe the phone was in "burst-shot mode" and took a whole bunch of pictures within a few seconds?
