Tap to zoom on text

Lurker
Tapping to zoom on a column of text in the Android browser (or Dolphin etc) doesn't intelligently zoom to the width of the column you tap. Instead it zooms in and reformats the text to fit the text to the new width.

On iOS tapping a column of text zooms you in to the width of that column, no reformatting is required.

Is there an app, browser, hack, rom or fix to enable iOS style text zooming on Android.

Solutions for 2.2 Desire appreciated (rooted)

I've seen some mention they don't know why the iPhone doesn't do this 'reflow' of the text. Tap to zoom on photos (on the Atrix anyway) zooms in way too far as well, making it a useless feature.

There should be some settings options for these things

In Firefox, it's a setting you can choose as to whether the text reformats or not. Personally, I prefer the reformatting, but if I recall correctly, the default setting was not to reformat.
