Tapatalk-like interface for other forums

Tapatalk already works great on several forum types. Unfortunately, for one of the most common types here in Germany, the Woltlab forum, there is no Tapatalk-like app available.

Somehow, the administrators of that forum platform dont seem to recognize how much better a forum looks like with a proper interface. Instead they recommend just using simple themes etc.

I think, a native app for these forums could greatly improve the user experience on Android devices :)

All they have to do is upload a file to their web-server and you can access it with the tappatalk client app. I don't see what the big deal is. lol

just that this file doesnt exist yet. There is no Tapatalk plugin yet for Woltlab BB forums :(

Ohhh woltlab bb is a TYPE of forum... not a name of a forum... Sorry I misunderstood. Hmm.. Well, in that case, you will need someone who is good with J2EE to make a quality servelt to handle the POSTs and GETs from received from the app.

tapatalk is not available for all forums. I'm a mod on a parenting forum, and I asked the admin to install tapatalk, but it doesn't support our forum. I think we're on an older version or something.

TappaTalk only supports vBulletin and (I think) phpBB. It also is Dependant on the version of your forum software and the the php file specific to your version is needed. I am pretty sure that it only supports versions 3.8 and 4.0 of vBulletin and I am unsure of the required versions of phpBB.

It should work on Invisionboard too although I couldn't get it to work myself..

It sounds like the parenting forum should upgrade, it's usually straight forward and fixes lots of security holes. :D

lol, I agree! :)

We move slowly over there, we won't likely upgrade for a while, it's privately run and non-ad supported. The members donate to help fund it, so it's small, but cozy. ;)
