Task Killer, which is it?

Is a task killer really necessary? I haven't really noticed any benefit in using it.

I am beginning to think it's like a Windows registry cleaner -- sounds good in theory, but pretty much useless with the ability to really screw things up, if you don't know what you're doing.

That's an argument with no 'final' answer, lots of subjective, and very little objective, data.

If you don't notice any benefit in using it, and you don't notice any difference in NOT using it, then I propose that it's not doing anything for you.
