task killers????

Im new to the droid and still trying to learn things here. A friend told me i need to down load a "task killer" app and someone else told me not to do it that when you use it to turn off the apps they turn themselves badck on . is this true and is a task killer necessary?

No...in fact do not use one.
They will kill your battery and are 100% useless.
The linux based phone loads apps it thinks you may need. They are NOT running until needed.
The droid has a sophisticated memory management scheme - let the phone do what it does best!
After all, it is a smartphone.

I use Systempanel. It, in fact, does not kill my battery and is not useless since my phone runs more smoothly with it. Using it properly is key. YMMV.
