Tasker timer not working

I'm trying to set a sleep timer for my music player (google play music) by using a Tasker timer widget to trigger a simple task. I've tried setting the task up as media control: stop and also as kill app: google play music. Neither one works. When the timer runs out, the music continues to play.
Any suggestions

I never used it until yesterday. It seemed to work fine ... countdown timer that triggers a Tasker task.

I assume your issues were with the apps you were trying to manipulate.

The simulate Media button need to be unchecked. Have no idea what it is anyway so

To control PowerAmp I have to have the option checked or it is ignored. This is with no App selected or with PowerAmp selected.

Same with me but it has to be unchecked for Google play music (I listen to ocean sounds to go to sleep)
