tcl20xe usb help

the wife just got the tcl20xe phone and i can't get it to use any of the usb selection, it tells me the phone has to be unlocked. that is kind of dumb , what if i need to view phots on the pc using the usb port on the phone?

does anyone know how to get past that? i went into the usb section on the phone and it has charge selected and will not let me change it. so i turned on developer and went to use and it said the phone nas to be unlocked. so now i have to wait 6 months to use the usb port for photos transfer.

any ideas? thanks

I just recently did that for my droid, you can head over to the app and just select USB Debugging in the Develeoper options.
 
i did that i think i even said that above maybe you missed it, anyway it will not let me in the app or in developer section. in developer it says it needs to be unlocked. but i was hopping someone was able to change the usb from charge to at least files so i can plug in my stick for the dashcam and view the videos.

Maybe I did miss it completely.
 
no problem it happens sometimes. anyway i think i will just have to wait until it can be unlocked being the developer options section for the usb connections will not let me change any setting. in the meantime i may just put an old phone in the car just for the occasion that i may need to view the dashcam video. i'm going to test that tomorrow after the wife drive the car and it gets some feed on it. i did a format today so it will not have anything to see now. thanks

Is this a phone that's SIM-locked to Boost Mobile and sold by Walmart? Because that's the only results I could find for a TCL20XE.

Seems rather bad that the carrier SIM-lock is apparently locking out the USB selection and developer items as well? I've seen TCL phones before(in China), but never had any experience of them.
