Hi. I'm new to android phones and got myself a Samsung Galaxy Ace. I noticed it comes with the ability to listen to over the air radio. I also saw apps that lets you detect TV antennas.

Is there an app out there that can let my android view local television over the air? Old analog signals, of course.

Most of the apps I found stream the shows. I'm looking for an app that picks them up over the local air waves like it does with the FM radio app that comes with the phone. I don't think there is one though otherwise I would've found one already.
 
Dude that needs hardware for that, first find out if ACE even have the required hardware to receive those signals.

Hi, you still haven't said where you are. If in the UK then best option is tvcatchup.com, all UK Freeview channels live! (over wifi) Graham :)

He just wants to turn his smartphone into the old analog TV sets, and they did not have wifi or 3g. :p:p
 
Well it has hardware that lets it pick up FM radio waves over the air. There are also apps that can detect TV antenna broadcasting strength. I assumed the hardware it already has can be used to pick up TV signals over the air as well.

No there is no tv chip in ace. Only way to watch tv on ace is via stream from internet.
