Tell me your reaction to the new EU meme ban

Sound like journalistic hype.

If you read it you'll see that it's not a measure to ban memes. It's a proposal that copyright laws be strengthened to prevent media companies using people's work without payment. Some people are concerned that it might have unintended consequences, and I'm sure that some companies would like that story promoted as a way of defending their interests while appearing to be standing up for the public. I wouldn't panic.

Nothing makes that a good thing.

(Maybe if you have an inherited fortune held offshore and so can profit from a bit of disaster capitalism, like the main Parliamentary advocate of a hard brexit, then it could work for you. But otherwise the only reasonable and measured ways of describing that would be scrubbed by the forum's obscenity filter).
