Root Terrible battery life on latest cyanogen

hi all,

mate of mine has just rooted and flashed with latest 2.2 Froyo Cyanogen rom and gets terrible battery life, is there something he can do please?
 
My battery was also drained very quick on CM6.1.0, after some investigation I've found that Weather widget was trying to pull data every few minutes, so I deleted it (together with Twitter, Amazon and some more useless stuff) and now it lasts 4 days.
If you don't use Weather, you can also try to delete GenieWidget.apk, maybe it helps :
