Tethering vs buying a data card

Am a heavy internet user. When I had sprint, I was in the 5-10gb/mo range. Looking at the Fascinate and I have tethering in mind for my internet needs. How much GB/month would you guess I can tether without additional fees beyond the $29.99?

Also, I'm thinking of taking Verizon up on their buy one Fascinate get another free deal. I pay $74/mo right now for 900 mins + texting after 15% monthly discount. So two phones with 2000 mins would be $110 or so per month, since my wife does about 500 texts per month. Then I guess it's $10 extra for the 2nd line, and $29 x 2 for data on the two phones, makes it $180 - discount = $160ish a month.

Think I could get 10gb of hassle free tethering between the two phones? If I get a phone and a 5gb/mo usb data card, I'm looking at $130/mo after discounts.

What do you think?

Technically its unlimited so you shouldn't get charged for it. However don't be surprised if you see miscl chargers after you breach 10GB-15GB a month. Wireless carriers are known to do that to their "unlimited" plans.

I do around 5 - 7GB a month with wireless tethering (root) and its been good so far.
