Just a quick question.

I've set up a hotspot, and my computer has connected to it (the hotspot, not the internet). Does connectivity to the internet depend on your phones signal strength? For the most part I get HSDPA, if not 3G or 3g. If it's any lower will this effect connectivity to the internet as I currently can't connect (my phones signal strength is crap at the moment).

Yes, that will cause big problems with connection of this type. Basically if you have very poor or dropping signal you will experience a variety of problems trying to make use of this data service.
