Text block goes blank in landscape mode

Lately, when I input text for SMS the text block goes blank when I flip the phone to landscape mode. Any ideas? When I flip it back to portrait the text appears again.
 
For information only : I rebooted the phone and it works correctly again. I never switch off my phone, maybe just what it needed.
