Help Text images not showing up on galaxy s3.

So I have a galaxy s3 and when people send me images in texts I see "download" and I click it but it never downloads, it just says downloading and it sits there forever.

On my old phone when I got a text with an image it would just automatically show a preview that when I clicked it it would show the full image.

Do I have a setting wrong or something in it?

Ah that was it. I always have my wifi on as to not use data from my plan and never use data much. I assumed it would have downloaded it over wifi but now that I think about it that doesnt make sense.
