Text message downloading error

This problem has been extremely frustrating. All of a sudden my S5 won't let me send out or download pictures in texts. It usually says "download failed" or when I try to attach a pic it will just stay loading and never send. I really need to figure out what's causing this.

I even tried the message+ app and it's still happening. Does anyone know a way to fix this?

Are you root-ed? What texting app are you using?

No it's not rooted. I was using the original messaging app but I'm currently using message+.

Is DATA always on when you try to send/download pictures in the text app?

if it is not, you can't download pictures.

IMO, Message+ is not near as good as Textra, try it, it will automatically turn ON DATA if it is not on.... ( only on 4.4.4 or below, don't work on 5.x or newer )

Yes data remains on. I had the problem a while ago and it went away, but now it's happening again.

did you try the Textra app?
you need to try to isolate the issue,
ie, is it the app you are using, or is it the phone/service carrier?

Have you checked your APN settings? Are they correct?

It was the APN settings. I found this video and fixed it in one try
