Text message messing up

I'm not sure what is wrong with my phone. It adds extra letters when I text. I get 5 or so copies of a text. I've had network error. I've looked it up and I've done what was said....sign out of Google....uninstall apps....delete cache and data...made sure it was up to date.....someone please help

What phone do you have?
Are you using the stock messaging app?
Stock keyboard?

I have 4 but those are turned on.

You could try booting into Safe Mode which will temporarily disable installed apps and see if it had any effect on the stock messaging app.
You could give Textra a try. Only messaging app I use.

I don't think it's so much a case of the text app going crazy, but the keyboard or screen digitizer. Do you have your phone in a case? And, does the case overlap the screen?
