Text Message Notifications Not Showing On Bottom Homescreen App Dock

ZTE Zmax Pro just purchased for s/o. Whenever a text message comes in it does not display a count on the icon to show there is unread text messages. This is located on the home screen bottom app dock. I also noticed her Outlook app does not show the numbered notifications on the icon as well off the home screen. The notifications at the top of the phone work though.

Her previous phone was the same model and was doing it.

Any ideas?

The most recent update messed up the text message alerts. The sad thing is, there aren't going to be any updates to fix it. That's why I didn't install the update.

You might try installing another sms app to see if it bypasses the situation.

Yes I am on the MetroPCS build number B14 and I still have all my notification badge counters showing up. The only downside of being on B14 is that the latest versions of the YouTube app give me constant video problems and I can only get the sound to play on it most of the time. :\
