Text Message Problems 0001/0002

This has been happening on Sprint for over a month now. Every time me and my Wife get Text Messages from anyone other than other Sprint phones the messages are split into 0001 and 0002 instead of the typical (2 of 2) or (2/2).

This often leads to two text messages sent from a friend translating to three messages. Or even worse, 5 messages turn into 9 or 10!

I read on the XDA Forums this is a Sprint issue because they have changed the way the Network handles Text Messages. It's extremely annoying... does anyone know how to fix this or know of an ETA when Sprint is going to fix it?

It's happening on both my Evo3D and my Wife's Palm Pre.

I've noticed this on my Evo but just chalked it up to another issue with the Gingerbread update. Thanks for posting the link!

Broke the text message up into three separate messages.

I have had one message come through this way. It actually came in three messages, not two. It was the first and only time I have had that happen though.

It sounds like Sprint doesn't really know what's going wrong themselves...

I haven't been able to text my buddy (he's on vzw) all day.. Very sporadic and many messages suddenly start coming at once. ridiculous lol

yesterday i was texting about 9 people i realize everybody stop texting at the same time it was about 11 pm then at 1:40 am i got all those messages at the same time...then i had to force close the messaging app because it couldn't handle it i guess

Same here. I could only get replies from fellow sprint users... over night all other replies came thru, 56 of them
