Text Message Spam Blocker/Filter

I've started getting text spam! Argh. I can block up to 10 numbers on Verizon from texting, but the numbers change every once in a while.

Many seem to come from the 917 area code which is on the other side of the country from me. Sometimes telemarketing calls have started coming from these numbers too.

Any apps to help?

Check out Super Private Conversation. It's a free app that will allow you to screen calls (they won't even get to your voice mail). It may even be able deal with texts, but I've never bothered exploring that part of it.

Just be aware that app-level blocking means that the blocked messages still count against you. The app can't block the message until your device has received it. If preventing billing of such messages is a concern then an app-level solution won't help.
