Text Messaging App

Hi,
Has anyone found any texting apps that do not charge?
I found Google Voice, but as I am not in the US I can't use it until they expand globally to my area.

Another one I've recently discovered is textPlus...the only drawback is I need to get my contacts to download it as well...

Do you know any texting apps that I can download and use without having to get friends to download ? Please share below!

I used to use Heywire and my friends do not need to download the app, also it was free including texting international but anymore...I am also interested, please let me know once you come across any.

i would like to hear any answers to this as well. The text msg program that came with my Prevail is very limited.
