Help Text Messaging on the Moto 360

Hi all,
For whatever reason, I am not provided a reply option in SMS on my Moto 360 . Weird. I think it has something to do with bloody cloud magic, which I have since uninstalled. Is anyone having this problem? I can reply (voice) to email not SMS :(

I had this problem when using the default messaging app. Switched to Google Hangouts and now all is well.

Thanks all, it's so odd, I have done that and yes, I can now respond via voice. But, weird initially LG G3 messaging app allowed it, and the pictures on my Moto 360 were higher res as well... I guess we cannot have everything. Also not happy that there is no UNREAD count! :( But thanks all

Happy days. textra is the best. Full functionality and more and message indicator (unread) count. Just rocks.. Thanks all.

Yeah, when I swipe to the left to see more options, only one that comes up is "Open on phone." I don't know if it's a Samsung limitation or not, but not a deal breaker for me.

WhatsApp has awesome options as compared to text, which is really cool. Only thing is, only a handful of peeps I know use whatsapp.

Hmm. I have Nexus 5 using Hangouts, works great.

I'm not using hangouts, but the link you posted mentioned reply via sms or hangouts.

Oh the joy of being a crash test dummy/early adopter. :D

I think I will stick around and *grow* with the M360 though, I see potential in the future!

I just got my 360 last night and sent a text using the watch. On my stock S4 SMS app, it showed 2 identical messages and the recipient did get 2 messages. I haven't switched over to hangouts completely on the S4 and I dont want to if I don't have to. Has anyone experienced this with still using the stock SMS app on their android phone?

thanks in advance

I tried Textra and Google Messgener. So far I prefer Messenger, but LG stock messenger on my G3 did not give me too many issues (other than no distinct notification tones, which the other two fix as well) . I am sticking with google messenger since its my belief that google would make sure it has the best compatibility with wear (you get a message conversation history on the watch with first swipe).

I use Textra for SMS and I'm given the option to reply by voice.
I use Textra as well. It's amazing! I love the fact textra allows me to respond to mass group messages.

I read an article about a texting app called coffee messenger located in the play store. It's actually pretty sick!

I just tried Textra and like it!

I now have the option to respond to SMS on my Moto 360. Only thing I noticed is that it automatically sends the message you speak without the option to cancel/confirm (in case it doesn't get the speech right). Is there an option to set the cancel/confirm?

thanks

I use Textra and have the option to cancel the message within a few second after speaking it. ...unless something has recently changed that I didn't notice. If I'm thinking correctly, it shows the word cancel with a circle around it that is disappearing. If you hit cancel in time you are good. If not, you are too late. But I will go double check to see if that's still the case.

I did just reply to a text via my watch using Textra. Indeed, you can cancel the message within a time limit.

I will experiment and try just initiating and sending a text (not just replying) and see if the same option is available.

I have found that when using "OK, Google, Send Text to *******, (insert text message here)", I cannot find the text I sent on my phone. If I reply to a text I can easily find it using any of the SMS apps on my phone (ie Hangouts, Stock App, Go SMS, Chomp, etc). However, when sending a new one (not a reply), it doesn't appear anywhere.

Anyone know where these go and/or how to find them????

what phone are you using and are you rooted?

what is your main sms app? seems you have a number of messaging apps and this could be causing the confusion. one of these apps are set to default and whichever app is set to default should have the message.

are you new to android wear? why the need to have so many messaging apps?
