Text signature

Is there anyway to 'erase' your text signature on an individual text message? I have my siggy in the settings but sometimes I need to not have it there (when I am checking the Balance on a bank acct with the word BAL and it cannot have any other wording) I used to be able to simple scroll down and delete my siggy...but I can't do that now.... RIGHT?

Thanks!

You probably should state what program you are using to text with since there are thousands of them out there... don't ya think?

This isn't really an answer to your question, but may I suggest considering not using a signature on text messages in the first place? Given the nature of text messages (i.e. quick conversations) and their finite length, I think conversing with someone that had a signature appended to every message would be incredibly annoying and would most likely result in my not texting that person/company any more.
Email signatures are bad enough- text signatures just seem insufferable.

You'd think that, but just yesterday I sent a text to a friend (whose dog had just dies) who replied saying "I really appreciate that, [my wife's name]" - she had my number accidentally stored in my wife's contact info on her phone.

I (obviously) rarely send a sig on my texts, but sometimes I add one (just a dash and my name, nothing more than that).

I agree that you shouldn't send one on every message, though.

Right- I completely agree that there are times when a signature (in the traditional sense) is helpful and appropriate. I know I've occasionally gotten into text conversations while on my wife's phone and I have to add something so the other person knows they're talking to me and not her. However, I'll go out on a limb and say that a "signature" in the electronic messaging sense (i.e. text that gets added to every single outgoing message) should probably never be used in text messaging unless you really want to annoy whomever you're talking to.
