text-to-speech to hear google voice sms messages?

Hi,

I use google voice with my Droid X, and so I get my SMS texts through the google voice app. Is there any way to have the texts read to me when I'm driving?

I don't use Google Voice, so I'm not sure this will work. But Vlingo is free in the market and it reads my texts out loud from the stock SMS app. It's worth a download to see if it works. If not, it's free. Delete it.

Vlingo is exactly what I would love to have for car use, EXCEPT that it doesn't work with google voice. Thanks, though!

Have you found an app to do this? I'm looking for the same thing, an application to read my google voice SMS while driving. Ideally I'd be able to reply by voice too.

Yes, the program, Text By Voice does this pretty well.

I hope that's true and I've been missing something. But I think you're probably thinking of voicemail, not SMS (text messages).
