I have a huge problem at work where my
phone speaks to me and tells me when I have a text message
how do I turn this off??? please im desparate...

There should be a notifications setting. Where this is depends which phone you're using and which version of Android.

It will be something like:

Open your message app

Tap the menu (three vertical dots)

Select Settings

Scroll down until you see notifications. There will probably be one or more tick boxes. Experiment un-setting these until the phone works as you'd like.

If you have the galaxy s3 go to notifications and disable drive mode that should work
