Texting a video file

I seem to be having some problem with texting video files on Verizon. I though I had read on their site that 500KB was the size limit but the rep last night said it was 15 seconds in length with no size limit.

Does anyone really know? My file was 23 seconds recorded in MMS mode and 328 KB long. Wouldn't go.

And is it the same for GMail?

Technically, that should be well within the filesize limit. I sent one yesterday that was 40 seconds long and 700 KB and the phone didn't complain (no reply though, so I have no clue if it actually went through). Although this is sort of why I hate dealing with MMS, since modern smartphones have kinda outgrown it. Its just woefully dated.

In Gmail the attachment size limit is 20 MB for sure, but I've heard Google is upping that to 10 GB (because of Google Drive, so its technically unlimited). So if the recipient is definitely a smartphone user with a data plan, send videos to their email.
