Help Texting and data transfer problems

Hi there

For some reason, my texts only appear on the status bar along the top. I pull the notification bar down, click on the text, and it opens the conversation but no new texts or sent texts appear anymore. They've just stopped appearing in the conversation. Any ideas?

Also, I have insterted my old sd card as i want to transfer photos etc from my old phone to my new one. The phone recognises the sd card and the files are there, I just can't find an option to transfer to phone memory as I want to put the original samsung sd card in the phone? Any body know..surely you can transfer from sd card to internal memory? Everything I find is the other way round.

Hi Sam,

My Galaxy Portal was doing exactly the same a few months ago.

It is probably a memory issue. Do you have many texts, some really large threads?

In Messaging, check Settings and check that Delete Old messages is ticked. Also, check on Text message limit. Once I had
- lowered the Text message limit,
- deleted alot of old messages
- switched the phone off,
- taken the battery out for 10 seconds or so,
- switched back on

everything was fine. And hasnt happened since
