Texting Bug or Normal??

Something very odd happened today when I sent a text. I know the maximum number of characters in a text is 160 so this baffled me for a bit. I have a MAXX that is stock ICS. Here is what happened...

This is the text I sent. (250 Characters Total)

Been outside at mom's and at the shop cutting grass & weeds. Then spent about 4​

Try rebooting and test it again. Just tried to simulate the same issue with two different Maxx on ICS and both phones sent and received long messages with "1/2" as just one long message. I've noticed if I know if I send texts to users on other carriers what they send me and receive from me are broken up.

Sorry, you're correct. Was spacing out on that part earlier. So I tested it again with the "

I would download Handcent or Go Sms Pro, and choose a simple split in coversations. They give you more control. Then disable "text messaging" (the stock text app) and see if that helps.

Neither Handcent, GO SMS Pro, nor your carrier matter in this case. You used special characters and these always change allowed message size to 70 characters. That has already been mentioned. Stop using them and you will be fine.
