texting from lockscreen

is it possible to compose/ reply to text messages from the lockscreen without actually going into the messaging app itself?

You can do that with a replacement lockscreen such as flyscreen.

Handcent brings a pop up on the lockscreen that you can reply from.

so these would allow me to reply directly from the lockscreen without have to unlock the phone at all? Thanks for the help, i haven't actually got my phone yet but im trying to see if there are apps that will make my phone do what it wants to do

Chomp and Handcent have the ability to have a sms pop-up come on over the lock screen that allows you to send texts from it.
