Textra Adding Home Phone Numbers

I have been extremely careful to make sure my contacts in groups have mobile numbers yet Textra insist on including some contacts home & work numbers in addition to their mobile numbers. So some individuals are listed 3 time in my groups!

Has anyone else had this problem and is there a fix ?

That's not happening because of Textra.
That's an issue with your Contacts app and accounts associated with your Contacts app.

I have carefully gone through all of my contacts in Android 12 and Google and synced. I have also rebooted the phone several times. Textra is picking up the mobile #'s, home phone #'s & work #'s even though they are labeled as such. So certain individuals are picked up by Textra groups 3 times.

Textra is only a messaging app, nothing more.
If you are getting multiple numbers for contacts you need to fix your contacts, by merging numbers for each individual

Go into settings and select 'mobile contacts only'. That should fix it for you.

Clementine_3 was absolutely right! There is a setting with Textra itself. I had to change the setting, delete the offer ding groups within textra, reboot for good measure, then texted the deleted "new" groups. Voila!
