Thank You Button & Signatures

Thanks for popping in to assist....
Clearing the cache was the first thing I tried.... followed by using a different browser.
What is odd however is this New Topic I created shows BOTH the Thanks meter and my Sig, indicating there is no problem.
So, with that I just made a 'Test Post' here and again there's no Thank You button nor my Sig showing.
Just tried again in IE which I hardly use and it's the same.

Post 3 (this post) does not show my Sig?????

Your signature will show on your first post of each page in a thread. So, taking this thread as an example, you've got more than one post on this page, but only the first one will show your signature. This is to make the thread easier to read 
The exception being that you might see your signature on every post immediately after posting or editing, but if you refresh the page you'll see it as I just described.
You shouldn't see a thank button on your own posts at all, as far as I'm aware.

Yes, thanks... I'm happy I don't see a Thank You button on my own posts.. It was for other posters that I didn't see the button.
That though appears to have sorted itself out.
Re the Sig ~ I take what you say about following posts not showing sigs. This though must have been a fairly recent change as I remember many of my following posts in a topic would all show my sig.
The only benefit to me in the sig showing on each of my posts was it displays any Thank You votes members wished to leave for assistance I had given are then converted into a charitable donation.... An incentive if you follow my drift.

However, I understand what you say.
The signature limitation has been in place for a while, but I know up until the last few months we had a few problems with it and it likely wasn't enabled in the sections you visited. That could explain why it appears new to you.
As for none of the thanks buttons showing up, that's a new one to me. Good to hear it's sorted it's self out

Great idea (although I thought it was broken until I read this). Sometimes seeing the same signature over and over is just so annoying especially when they are loaded with graphics and huge fonts.
That being said, maybe allowing text only with a minimum number of characters in a repetitive sig would be a good compromise.
That would probably work too. But having images in your signature is one of the premium members benefits, so it probably wouldn't go down well here.
