Thanks to info on this site I was able to root my Galaxy SII 2 years ago. Came back with a question and decided to register. I prefer to be a user rather than a technician, but one must become part-time technician just to escape the shackles and spying and lack of control over your phone, pc, etc. Thanks to the very good posters making it fairly easy to get up to speed on what would be nearly impossible starting from scratch.

Yes, great phone offered at a good deal by tre.it here in Italy. Especially after rooting it. Does all I need very well. Email, Etrade, SMS, phone, camera, runs Firefox fine, alarms appointments, GPS for charting unknown places... access to Live Drive, just in case I need something. Geez what else do I need?

What can I say. I feel sorry for those who do not have the courage to root their phones. I had the advantage to be an electrical engineer which made it easier, I guess. Still I had to work at it, as I have not used my technical training for a very long time. The people here are the very best. Period. Topo
