the best Cloud storage solution(s)?

Hi all, I've done heavy amounts of research on Cloud services, and I just can't seem to settle on one. Along with an Android app, I like a service that uses encryption and has OS integration.

However, every service seems to have iffy ToS & privacy policies. From Microsoft's 'SkyDrive' to Google's 'Drive', there are hardly any good solutions to choose from that have privacy 100% in mind. Giving a service the power to scan through your files just to delete what it feels is pirated or provacative, is not okay. While they can make great business tools, they are not exactly ideal for personal use.

I've read about FTP servers.. which seem like a grand idea as there are apps which can give access to these, except they look way too technical to set up; firewalls and all that crap. I hate to set something up the wrong way.

Then I've looked into software such as DoubleTwist, which sync your music/pics/vids between your computer straight to your phone via wifi. Only downside is that your computer has to be on all-the-time.. and there are known bugs. I have looked into Winamp too, except Winamp will only sync music. Hmm.

I have Dropbox. You start out with 2 GB free storage. With referrals I am now up to 8 GB. I love the synchronization. I have set up a shared folder between my phone, galaxy tablet, laptop, home and secretary to work on various files. So far, it has worked flawlessly. I am always up to date.

I also have a 50 GB free box.net account. I have yet to use it because the synchronization software is not as elegant as that of dropbox. At some point, I may just use the 50 GB as a backup of some old files. I am not sure but there may be a transfer limit which may make it difficult for me to backup mass amounts of files on box.net unless I pay.

We also have an iPad but I have not tried to figure out how to use Icloud yet.

I think "Dropbox" is cool. It has large amount of free web apps as well as there are android sync apps. However after i receive Box.net 50GB free space now i use box.net.

In my experience, I have found that individually none of the services are all that good, but if you mix and match, then maybe you can construct your own solution.

I would guess as these are USA based, they'd have to give the US Governemt and its agents like FBI, NSA, CIA, etc a backdoor to your data if they request it with a subpoena? So no 100% privacy I guess

Box.com is used by companies. Google Drive, SkyDrive, Dropbox and Sugarsync are more for individual personal use.

Dropbox is great especially the sync function they have. Had been looking around for a paying cloud storage too and found one using google server. I think is reliable right since they utilising Google server. Read the review at hxxp://cloudstoragebillboard.com

is the only acceptable 'cloud service'...th rest is iffy, dangerous and dependent on the grace of God to work reliably and privately
