I was very enthusiastic about the gmail app before I got my first android phone (HTC Wildfire). After all, it's Google's OS and Gmail is their second flagship product after the search engine.
What do we get?
There is no desktop widget for gmail (wtf)
The interface is worse than in the java version for older mobile phones.
Entire groups of e-mails are missing!
For instance : today I have noticed that there's a 7 day gap between the newest mail I've got and the second on the list. That means about 20 messages were simply not displayed - why?
Currently I've replaced the app for the shortcut to gmail's web version , which is by far better. However, I'd still prefer to have a regular app, as this way it doesn't have to download the gui elements all the time, just load the content.
And why can I only PREVIEW attachements and not download them??
This really sucks a lot. Are there any updates on some future version which would fix those obvious disadvantages?
