The JBL Flip a review in progress

Feel free to ask any questions. I'm just jotting down some thoughts and test results to put together into one big review eventually.

The JBL Flip is about the size of a large Red Bull can and puts out some truly fantastic sound.

1st battery test. Speakers on maximum volume while playing albums on Samsung Music Player and streaming Pandora; both at half volume from the controls on my Samsung Galaxy S2.
Start: 11:02 PM End: 3:48 AM; 4 Hours and 46 minutes. Not bad considering it is advertised as lasting 5 hours.

The Flip gets it name from being able to be used horizontally or vertically. It sounds better to me when vertical.

Comes with a nice neoprene carrying case but there is no case for the wall charger. That's a minus that it even uses a wall charger instead of USB charging but something I can definitley live with because of the remarkable sound this thing puts out.

Start: 4:29 AM End: 5:55 AM. 1 hour, 25 minutes. That's a good thing. The reason this test was unscientific is because I was at work and the Flip informs you it's fully charged by turning off the red charging light. I had the little sucker behind me, things got busy and I may have missed the actual fully charged action. I guess not having a light code for fully charged counts against it but my S2 doesn't either so that's a wash.

On the left side or the top depending on how you have it oriented is a + or - rocker switch in between the power button and the call answer button. There are 25 levels of volume possible by pushing on the + key. Tonight's battery test is being conducted with the Flips' volume on ten and my S2s' volume using the Samsung Music player all the way up. I think this will result in longer battery life than last nights test. I'll update this post with the results.

Start: 12:03 AM End: 4:17 AM. 4 hours and 14 minutes. Hmmmm, not at all what I was expecting. I wonder if having them sitting in my bag for approximately 18 hours before testing affected my results? For last nights test they were only off the charger for about an hour before I started. :hmmmm:

I'll try to post some pictures and some parting thoughts tomorrow.
