The New New N7

Pep

Android Enthusiast
So I now have my New Replacement N7. And now hearing that there may be another recall.
Couple of Qs please.
Is the problem only when it's on charge?
Anyone heard of any problems in Australia?
Would a Battery Monitor Widget help to keep an eye on it?

I really really do not want an S7 or S7E (had and S7E from preorder, Hated it and got rid of it for a N7)

Thanks you
Pep

No. There have been reports of replacement Note 7s igniting while powered OFF and NOT charging. No problems in Australia (YET). And a battery monitor would probably not detect a physical flaw in the battery's construction. IF that's the problem (again). I still have my Moto X Pure in standby, and have just powered it up to get it up to date if Samsung does, as I predict, issue a second global recall. I'll hand over my Note 7 and Gear 360 for refunds... and wait patiently for the Note 8.

I was afraid of that answer!!
I'll just bury my head in the sand until Samsung make a decision

Well back to the Note 5 until I find something that I like better - off to search for a used one :( Ugh.

Then to figure out if I can get credit for my 3rd Party Accessories.

Such a great phone. This really sucks.

I backed up my Note 7 to Samsung Cloud, wiped it and returned it today for a refund. Sad day. :(
Any issues with keeping the 64GB SD card? I'll be returning mine next week minus the card. Thought about keeping the wireless charger but that can go back too (for now).

The Note 8 rumors are FLYING! I guess we'd better start a forum for it :p

This article suggests that Samsung is getting an early start on the Note 8. If this holds true, we could see a combined launch of the S8 and Note 8 as early as APRIL!

:D

It would be interesting to see if any legit sites/leaksters can confirm any of these "rumours".

I highly doubt Samsung are going to release the Note (or whatever they call it if they decide to end the note line) any sooner than the normal Note release schedule.

The last thing they want to do is release a product they haven't tested the hell out of and a March/April release will give them no time to do that.

This comment kinda sums things up for me -

Yeah... but I'm confident that Samsung will try to redeem itself and get past all the jokes and memes as quickly as possible. If that means advancing the Note 8 release up to Spring 2017, I can see them doing that. But it's a delicate balancing act: can they turn the Note line around and stun us with a phenomenal phone without compromising quality? If the Note 8 comes out with problems because it was rushed out, Samsung Mobile is toast. I would hate to be DJ Koh right now!

I hope they don't rush another Note, or pretty much any model until they know what happened here. They cannot afford another problem so soon. A little breathing room would be smarter...IMO.
