The new Spider-Man movie was pretty boring, imo.

The trailers, hype and reviews all made me think this would be totally worth it but instead, it left me really bored out of my mind. Even the comedy aspect fell flat.
Would've preferred to have seen the old Spider-Man movie with Tobey Maguire which is infinitely superior, funny and charming. Plus, Peter in that one could throw web from his own body as it was in his veins while Spider-Man 2017 needs a suit to do.
I don't even care about superhero movies (skipped Wonder Woman, X-Men, Avengers, Batman v Superman, etc just too many) but this is Spider-Man so figured I'd give it a try.. what a disappointment.

The scene where they are all driving to prom is awesome though. I'd like to cut that scene out and just have it. Keaton is amazing. Rest of the movie is "ok".

Keyton was amazing. The parts with Spider Man interacting with the iron man suit was funny. I felt the movie dragged at times but I think it's a step in the right direction.

The scenes with Keyton were good but about Iron Man.. I personally didn't care.

I have SEVERAL fundamental issues with the film, Iron man, no mention of uncle Ben, no mention of with great power ...

It was a fun little Marvel movie not too different from all the rest. I'm looking forward to Avengers to see Spidey interact (in a friendly - pun intended) way.

In the original source material (i.e. the comics) the web is produced from devices Peter wears on his wrists under the suit (as in the Andrew Garfield movies). So to those who knew Spider Man from outside the movies that was actually a bit of an odd thing for them to do.

So it's more or less another Iron Man situation? Peter did super jump at least so that's something.

If you mean that Peter having web glands in the Maguire movies is as non-canonical as Iron Man being involved in the start of his career, then yes.

Though I believe (I don't keep up with these things, so can't give details) that more recently in the comics there has been a connection between Parker and Stark, so the Iron Man link may be a variant on a theme rather than purely an invention for the movies (placing that phase at the start of Spidey's career rather than when he's been doing it for, ahem, more than 50 years, which would make for a very different dynamic).

Of course the "more than 50 years" is a different problem for the comics. Though Spidey doesn't have it as bad as Batman, who if he was in his early 20s when he started out should be a centenarian by now. Probably best we don't ask how old Aunt May is these days...

i also do not like this spidy.. he is NOT together.. kind of a lost kid.

Spidy is leader.. fast thinker... smart... inventive...
