The one reason that made you upgrade to the Note 5?

I'm just wondering what was the main one or two reasons that you upgraded from the Note 4 to the Note 5?

Personally for me while I'm not feeling the features that the Note 5 removed, especially the IR blaster, I have decided to get the Note 5 because of the smaller physical size.

I've always thought the Note 4 was too bulky compared to the Note 3, so one thing I was hoping for in the Note 5 was a smaller physical size, this I got.

Other than the smaller size which for me is an upgrade, I'm really struggling to find other reasons.

For me there wasn't just one that made me upgrade.

The main reasons for my upgrading in no particular order were:

Wireless charging. So very nice to just set it down and have it charge FAST!
Camera with OIS. The IQ isn't so much the benefit as given my world, I"m picky, but having OIS is very nice.
Screen. Oh that screen. I thought the Note 3 was nice and it was great when it was launched but the Note 5 blows it out of the water
Fingerprint ID Finally works
Power/Performance. The Note 3 slowed over time with the move to OS 5.x and it needed more RAM and Power. The 5 runs circles around it.
Design/Feel. The phone definitely "feels" nicer to hold and use. Big improvement over the Note 3.

Ah yes the fingerprint scanner is a reminder. When I get my Note 5 I definitely plan to use it. I don't use it with the Note 4 as the swiping gesture required is awkward and isn't always accurate.

Wireless charging is completely useless to me. I tend to my phone a lot even when it's on a charging cable, hence with wireless I'll be interrupting the charging constantly which I'm sure isn't good for the battery.

I can't speak to the Note 4 system but on the Note 5 it had me position my thumb in a large number of locations/grips so it is fool-proof in terms of grabbing and going to unlock it. No sliding needed, it unlocks instantly once I grab it. Before I can begin to use it, she's unlocked and ready to go.

I think you'll change your mind. I have one base sitting here on my desk at the home office. If I need to juice it up a bit, I will just set it right there. No messing with cables. If not, then it can sit right next to it. Works great. I'm not even using the high speed mode either as my base is plugged into my USB port on my desktop system. Still charges very quickly. I'll likely do some timing comparisons.

Power and performance for me. It is blazing fast and really responsive. Much more so than the Note 4 was out of the box. It really bothered me that on day 1 my brand new Note 4 lagged when opening the recent apps menu.

All the above mentioned reasons are good for me but I can add one to all those - Samsung Pay. If it works as advertised it's gonna be great. All the other players - Apple Pay, Google Pay, Android Pay, Google Wallet etc. require the retailer get a special receiver. Samsung is claiming their new payment method will work with ALL existing credit card readers. The retailer won't have to install anything which means Samsung Pay will work ANYWHERE!! Due out the end of this month. Got my fingers crossed it works as advertised. They did a great job with the fingerprint reader on the 5 so I have my hopes up. : )

The Air Command, being able to jot a note onto a black screen (no need to turn on the phone, press buttons, etc.); the fingerprint scanner; the speed of the phone. For these reasons, I'm happy I upgraded from a Note 4.

Honestly, I was happy with my Note 4. Ive been reading about the Note 5x since before it officialy came out, but was going to wait a while and see. My Note 4 decided randomly to stop charging, the night before last, so the Note 4 decided it was time to upgrade. So far, Im super happy with N5.

Well I came from iPhone 6S plus. The phone is great, but until switching over my Note 5, I cant believe how restrictive Apple is, it ridiculous honestly.

I love the absolute FREEDOM to pretty much do whatever I want, play whatever bit rate flac song I want, LOVE the wireless charging and the fast charging, the screen is stunning, and this phone is smoking fast, oh and the camera and camera features is AMAZING.

LOVING MY NOTE 5!!!

I have to admit the biggest negative for me is the SD card removal. I'm coming from a 32GB Note 4 and although I didn't use up all the space, I had the SD Card to fall back on if needed. Other than that, I mean I love the Note 5. Its fast, the screen is awesome, and the fingerprint reader far better than on the Note 4. I had been debating on perhaps exchanging it for the S7 Edge which is what my wife got but we'll see. I think I would miss the S-Pen even though I hardly use it really.
