Help The one thing about Android that annoys me

LOL there are quite a few things but this is mainly the biggest thing, it is getting to be annoying with this phone in particular

Is the fact I keep having to sign into my gmail...like every hour.

I have 3 main gmail accounts

One for pleasure/personal use

One for work

One for school
(I am considering switching back to WP7 & hotmail...but that is another story)

It seems every hour, I'm having to resign into Gmail. And it's not a huge deal but it is a bit annoying seeing the little notification sign that is saying that you need to sign into XXXXXXXX@gmail.com

Furthermore, my Gmail is not pushing to my phone whatsoever so I am not getting any emails without having to sync it manually...even though it is said to get it whenever available.

Idk what to do or what exactly the issue is but it is truly annoying. Any suggestions would be nice?
 
Wow that's not right. I have my main gmail addy that i have set as my login to the phone and a secondary one. Both get pushed and I haven't ever had to log in again after i set them up. I know you've used several android devices, has this been your experience on all of them?
 
Yeah, set up another gmail account in the normal mail app, and just use the website for your least needed one?
 
She shouldn't even have to use the website. Every email addy she sets up through the wizard should push to her phone. I have two gmails, two yahoos, and a hotmail all set up on my phone.

Yea I have used quite a bit of them and it was a minor issue on the others but I'm frustrated by the mytouch 4g. It just recently start happening.

The e-mail randomly polls when it wants. I'm using the gmail app not the email app that is on sense phones
 
thats really strange as i have a work gmail..personal .and my school actually uses gmail all accounts are sync auto ...menu ..accounts..add account

how is this a prob with android what am i missing ?

Girrrl, that definitely shouldn't be happening. I use 4 Gmail accounts, all of which push new e-mails in the notification bar when I receive new ones, and when I go to check it (by dragging down the notification bar and tapping the new e-mail), it automatically brings me to the specific account that received it - all without the hassle of having to log in.

You're sure it's all synced up, right (Settings -> Accounts & sync -> then under 'Manage accounts' are a list of your Gmail accounts with the green sync symbol next to them)?
 
First of all, the title is misleading; this isn't an Android problem, as you can see, all the people that replied do not have this problem.

Are you using the Gmail app or the standalone Email app? I only use two accounts on mine, but I've never had the problem that you're describing.

Could Sense UI be causing a problem here?
 
This probably sounds elementary but make sure under the settings of each Gmail account (on the server side) it is set to allow for POP3. You should have to be logging in every time.

and i have personally owned 8 diffrent android devices
from g1 to my mt4g
and have never had anthhing close to this ...

Well this is more so personal experience. I've owned a captivate & vibrant, and I never had the major issues with GPS

so i can't speak for everyone but i can speak for myself :D

Droid Incredible
Droid X
Evo
Hero
Captivate
Backflip
Xperia X10
Vibrant
Tmobile G2
and mytouch 4g

So i've had experience with different
carriers, manufacturers, models etc etc.
It happens a lot with the mytouch more so
then the others which is why it is annoying.

And i've resetted the phone, powered it off, restarted
it, delete gmail accounts & resynced and still the same
issue....The phone will not sync the emails(at least not
push it immediately...it will either do it sporadically or
not at all)

And I am pretty knowledgeable about android so i know
how to set the settings and what not and work the phone.
But it's no worries, I have a windows phone as well & no
issues or major complaints with the syncing or the phone
so all's well that ends well haha
 
ummm....so many phones. And all originally shipped within the last +/- 5 years or so. Are you a technophile? Wow, I new here and will really be looking forward to your contributions to the forum.

BTW I have the 4g, multiple email accounts, including gmail and comcast. Never experienced the problem you describe.

they are all so knowledgeable and I kind of steal some of their
knowledge. I just like to have a new phone often as I am always
getting bored ha

Add in
Iphone 3gs
Iphone 4
Palm pre plus
Microsoft Kin
and Now an HD7
to that list and I guess
i have experience in nearly
every OS(aside from blackberry)

lol i never understand why people always say u are doing something wrong if there is no one else complaining about a particular issue...

it could be(and most likely is) an isolated issue with me....I doubt i am doing anything wrong. Like i said, i've owned quite a few android phones so i know the ins & outs :)

and wealthy? Ehh, i wouldnt say that. I used to buy phones at full retail and now i discovered the lovely craigslist that allows me to trade phones instead of buying every phone that come sout
 
craigslist ya say huh ??????? i gotta get on that as i am spending wayyyy 2 much on phones this is my 3rd mytouch 4g i pid 200//...200...500 ! lol
broke the 1st 2 cheap ass htc shoula used gorrilla glass !
 
Yeah i spent the greater part of 2010 just buying phones outright but craigslist is so great. It's better if you live in or near a major city because it gives you a broader search(Of course lol)

I tried ebay with selling and buying and i just don't like ebay. Craigslist is the way to go and what i will always use when i want to get a "new" phone :)

and i had 3 mytouch myself. Although i never broke one, I just happened to keep trading one away and then missing it and then trading for another mytouch shortly after haha

great news shouldnt be a prob then since im in ny and i will be 100% selling my mt4g as sooon as pyramid launches
