Those 2 cities, is it 100% coverageon on Tmo LTE?
Why did Sprint annouce 10 cities and they keep adding more cities but they never have 30% coverage on all those cities which make me so mad.
On top of that, their Sprint LTE phone will not work on 4G. And all Tmo has to do is have a software update to use the LTE? Sprint just doesnt make any sense.

Sprint has 2 kinds of 4G, LTE & WiMax so your phone either supports one or the other and that's the only 4G network you can get on since that's the only one the radio supports. Tmobile just has to send a update since the phone already has a LTE radio. They probably didn't send it with LTE activated because of battery life and/or not wanting them on the test network.

Sprint is allowing you on the towers as they come live, whereas tmobile is holding them out until the city is complete.
Completely different schools of thought.

While Sprint allow you to use when the tower comes live, it is few and far between. On top of that, their LTE phone will never work on 4G. So you either get LTE(few) or 3G. Yes, a hot new phone that get 3G most of the time.
Tmo will never activate LTE on N4 right? (Just have to roll back the radio?)
Tmo already got 99% LTE coverage on those 2 cities? Lucky them.

from what I experienced through virgin mobile, sprint. is. SLOW. data wise and tower upgrade wise. They are first probably continuing to focus on the LTE tower coverage in the big markets, then expand probably to a few mid-range markets, then probably focus a little on 3g improvements somewhere in that time frame, but not many concurrently if I had to guess. I'm glad tmobile already took this step back in '07 so that now they built a fast infrastructure to run their mobile network from. They had this planned, sprint didn't.

Unfortunately, when my husband had his Evo3D last year with Sprint, his data speeds in Tucson were so terribly slow that often it would just time out. We opted to pay off the remaining portion of the contract, just to escape the non existant data speeds.
I would understand if we lived in the sticks, but we live in the center of the city.
It is a shame, as they offer the best deals on contract, and the customer service was good for us too.
I had Tmobile for awhile too, and customer service was good with them as well, but we had no 4G here, so I left them too.

Network vision is upgrades to existing 3g as well as their new LTE towers concurrently.

What is the point of that network vision if half the towers in the city will be under maintenance (useless) for data for like months? Apparently that is happening to some people's data and 4g. :what:
If they are going to roll out lte, they need to go crazy and add it in as many cities as possible.

Their coverage is full of blank spots (look at Montana), making it even worse. The only reason people like their data is because of Verizon roaming.

Depends where you're at. I can pull 1mb down usually... and honestly you don't need much more than that for most things

Have you actually compared maps? Sprint has way more coverage than T-Mobile.

I can't go by Sprint maps. For me, it shows I have very good coverage in my town, yet in real world use, coverage is horrendous. I live 6/10ths of a mile from one of their towers, and have to go outside to make a call. Anyone here with Sprint/VM/TMO cannot go into any large store like Target or Walmart, because as soon as you do, you lose all connectivity. Their coverage map is useless here.

The area is still covered. Building penetration comes down to pure physics and some companies have much better wavelengths than others.
Either way, the point of that section of my post was that sprints network covers much more area than tmobile. There are entire states tmobile hasn't touched yet or covers only the major highway driving through them.
I'm not trying to start a tmobile sprint war, if I had to pay my own plan I'd switch to T-Mobile, but saying they have more coverage is just false

Yes sprint lied to both of us.
It said I had excellent wimax coverage in and outside my home. Guess what? Absolutely no wimax. Coverage maps are useless but the tmobile one actually was a little more "honest".
I just used the carrier coverage and the sensory app to check.
This is of course different for everybody, but I am getting way more bars than I ever did with VM/SPRINT.

Understood. But don't get me wrong either. All I was saying is that you can't go by those maps alone. I wasn't trying to fuel some TMO/Sprint thing either.
But I am happy I switched over to TMO. With VM, I had to actually buy a Tracphone just to have reliable phone coverage in case of an emergency. In the end, it's how good your reception is where you live, and not about how the rest of the world fares.
No harm, no foul.
