after reading the rules of the contest where you can win a s5 it says the retail value of the s5 is 599

Even though the Estimated Retail Value is $599 it doesn't mean that will definitely be the price they sell it for. It's possible they will end up selling it for a little less.

On Sprint's website the S5 is $649 right now, so the $549 range seems feasible for an introductory price with Virgin Mobile.

Additionally, Boost is advertising on Facebook that the S5 is coming next month, so that's probably when Virgin Mobile will release it too.
