The Tool Thread

New Year, new thread idea.

I've a hunch I'm not the only AF fan who has a yen for tools... and I don't mean the tools of technology, either.

So I thought it would be fun to have a thread to share our thoughts and hopes and dreams...of which this pic is definitely the latter. But heck, if settle for just a nice chest; it doesn't have to be this amazing!

I've got a selection of power tools, and a chain saw. But for all that, the most useful tool I own is this

I had tools everywhere until I grabbed a toolbox last summer to put them all in. Now I have a few empty drawers, so time for more tools.

I experienced something similar. Once I put all my tools in a toolbox it was like I didn't want to use them anymore. More like a tacklebox, but still...

I'm fortunate enough to have a large amount of hand tools. I've lived a long enough life that I accumulated most everything I could need and inherited my father's as well as my father-in-law's life time collections. I have them grouped into metric and sae naturally and have sets in the garage, shed, and truck. I just can't bring myself to toss a tool. I'd like to say that own a kennedy chest full but sadly they are in many different tool boxes. A quality tool will last generations.
