I've been searching for one to buy.....but they are no where to be found. I think i'm going to just save my money and wait until Mobile World Congress and just something else. Asus handled this really bad and now i'm scared to buy their products.
have you been making use of this?

No....Thanks!
The Prime is awesome. All this bashing....is just weird. Wi-Fi works great for me. I have not seen a better tablet on the planet.
Im guilty of the same thing. It worked well enough to keep it, as long as they were aware of the issues (which they proved to be). Them being aware, would lead one to assume that "billion dollar company" would work to fix it and make their customers happy.By your own admission you didn't return the prime on hopes that Asus would fix it.
I dont think he has? At least i know I havent. I actually love my prime .. but that doesnt mean its without issues, and it doesnt mean id like those issues to be KNOWN and hopefully fixed. I voice them often because maybe im not the only one here dealing with it, and maybe someone else knows of a fix, or maybe we can all put our heads together on something. You seemingly main attempt to rectify the situation is complaining on forums, and tearing down others who disagree. A fool cuts down those who try to offer help, regardless of how helpful it is.
wrong, see aboveEither RMA the tablet, and hope for a repair, or contact ASUS, because, noone here works for them, so complaining here, gets you absolutely nothing
Fortunately I'm well enough off that a 500$ tablet isnt the end of the world, as a matter of fact, I own an iPad 2, soon an iPad 3, this prime, and e new prime that comes with windows 8.
I mean this in the nicest possible way rdalev, but you have go to take a major chill pill. Every single day of the week you come on here and bash the Prime, and pull random 1 in 5 facts out of thin air. I would guess that the majority of Prime owners are not sitting on this forum, therefore only the people with problems come to the forum for clues and fixes.
Here is the bottom line, as nicely as can be put-
1. By your own admission you didn't return the prime on hopes that Asus would fix it. From a consumers point of view, who in their right mind would ever put themselves on the line on "hopes" a multi billion dollar company would fix it? That itself makes me say your situation is 100% your fault, and I think it is a good lesson for you. Being taken to town over this, will teach you a valuable lesson: don't bet your money on a company. Always do the sure thing.
2. You seemingly main attempt to rectify the situation is bitching on forums, and tearing down others who disagree. A fool cuts down those who try to offer help, regardless of how helpful it is.
3. Either RMA the tablet, and hope for a repair, or contact ASUS, because, noone here works for them, so bitching here, gets you absolutely nothing, and is a waste of your own time.
Fortunately I'm well enough off that a 500$ tablet isnt the end of the world, as a matter of fact, I own an iPad 2, soon an iPad 3, this prime, and e new prime that comes with windows 8.
This tablet will get a few months worth of use, then the iPad 3, and then the Asus prime w/Win 8...... Maybe the ability to buy a new one clouds my judgement, and GPS doesn't become and absolute crisis for me......... Although my GPS picked up 15 birds and gave me turn by turn today so who knows.......

I did care about my GPS. My first tablet's didn't work, I called Asus 30 plus times, multiple departments, engineering, and guess what?
I had someone at Asus engineering personally test my tablet for-
GPS
Wifi
Screen bleed
Pixels
Cosmetic defects
It was hand inspected, tested, passed, and shipped to me overnight air.
It looks like, I'm the one who knows how to get results for my faulty tablet.
I was able to accomplish all of that without bitching on forums, somebody get me a medal!

And this is the part that lead me to reply. Who gives a darn how much money you have?? I am also "well enough off" and will also own an ipad3, and I happen to have a room in my home called my "gadget room" which is filled with nothing but electronics i waste time and money on. A geeks clubhouse, if you will. But this in no way implies im willing to throw money at a billion dollar company, for them to screw me by sweeping issues under the rug.
Every one of these devices goes away, and gets outdated very quick. I can unofficially promise you, this one will be on the fast track. Asus wants nothing more than for this disaster to just go away.
The launch was terrible, the support has been so/so ... i have to admit i see them trying. But they are willing to realize a certain amount of unfixable issues or devices, this is just completely unacceptable. I dont care how many toys i have, or will have, or how much money i have.
Fix the the product, or tell us you cannot fix it and let us know how else you will make good. Period. None of this other BS about RMA, or go to another forum and msg an ex-employee who may or may not answer, etc.
Fix it, replace it, or give me my money back. end of story.
And PS, dont tell me I have to RMA it back to you for 4-6 WEEKS. Give me a loaner, or just outright replace it on the spot. 6 weeks with no device is unacceptable, considering the thing only has a relevant lifespan of about 6mo.
it should not be a mission! in the "tablet world" what we paid, is top dollar. if there is anything at all wrong with it, they should be knocking on MY door to tell me an update, or a new back, or a special case, whatever .. is available.

I buy a new Cadillac every 3 years. As a result i get special treatment. I got a call last week and it went like this:
QUOTE]
If you drive a caddy, then you should be fully accepting of all problems, lol. Never drove a car with more problems off of the lot, the irony that you want a fully perfect tablet, and buy caddy, priceless my friends. LOL.
