Friends, it's time to do some crowdsourcing.
You know that here at Unity we test and buy lots of Android devices to ensure Unity Android works properly on. However some devices are specific for certain countries, markets, operators, etc. So sometimes we're unable to get them, and I am asking for your input here.

Please look through the list below and add the missing devices you're sure Unity Android works on.

Friends, it's time to do some more crowd sourcing. (yes, I'm ripping off this thread) Some Unity developers report customer complaints because the customer tried to run a Unity game on a less-than-adequate device. The general rule of thumb for Unity is:

1) Android 2.0
2) ARMv7/Cortex CPU (however some ARMv6 phones came with respectable GPUs for their time and can run Unity)

Of course, just because a device can run Unity does not mean it can run any Unity game, but that is a separate issue.

Some Android implementations or specific hardware may not support Unity even if the device meets the recommendations listed above. The real purpose of this thread is an attempt to list apparently-capable devices that do not support Unity. We can't stop people from downloading apps that they know won't work on their device; however we can at least make them aware of potential problems so they will try the app ASAP and get their refund, and maybe they will give us a 3-star review instead of one star. Please look through the list below and add the missing devices you're sure do not work with Unity Android or only work within specific constraints.

Do not work (reason):
--Samsung Transform with stock 2.1 OS (hardware is capable but kernel bug causes problems)
--Samsung Galaxy 580 (may crash on complicated scenes that other, similar devices can handle)
--Samsung Galaxy 5 (similar to Galaxy 580)
--HTC EVO3D (scary new technology)
--HTC Sensation (it's jacked up some how)

Work with specific constraints (constraint):
--Samsung Galaxy S (30 MB limit to downloadable file size)
--Samsung Galaxy Tab (30 MB limit to downloadable file size)
--HTC Desire (40 MB limit to downloadable file size)

If a device is unable to load an app because the file size is too large, the device should not see the app on the market at all; however, you can use this information to try to modify an app's file size so you can reach more users.

@Developers

If you have a game using the Unity3D engine that is not listed please feel free to post it here and it will be added to the list

@Everyone

If there are any broken links or any other mistakes within the lists please feel free to say so and I'll fix it when I get the chance

Battleheart and Trial Extreme still need to be added to the list as well. Not sure why they are not on Unity's list. Probably kind of hard to keep track of every game that is released using the engine.

It really is absurd that the Evo 3d and Sensation can't play Unity games. Considering both can't play them, I would wager it's not the Evo 3d's 3D configuration that does it. I'm thinking it's something that doesn't work nice with the kernel, like the Samsung devices. Makes me wonder if this problem will be fixed with either later versions of Unity (possible, but I'm not counting on it) or a ROM or some sort of mod that comes out after the 3vo/Sen get perma-root.

Ya, hopefulyl its something they can fix or find a work around without doing too much, because they already stated they aren't going out of their way to make it work if it's kernal related. If it is something on HTC's end, hopefully they will release something to fix it (though that is doubtful).

It's saddening though, with the upcoming release of Shadow Gun in September, because we probably won't see that working on our devices any time soon.

Got a fairly quick response from HTC about this:

"I understand how important it is to be have all the latest features and software available for your device. We cannot say if and when an update may be released in regards to how the phone handles third party software. In most cases it is up to the developers of such software to adapt to different phones that they want to see their software on. Most likely since these are such new phones developers are having trouble as appropriate source codes and program information has not been released yet to work with. They are welcome to keep an eye out on our developer support site developer.htc.com for more information"

I don't understand why they can't release the source code for the kernals and everything else...it doesn't seem like it should be all that hard to upload a file to the site...

I'm holding out for root and seeing if ChainFire fixes it. There are a few free Unity games, and trial versions, to test with.
