The volume on my phone keeps increasing with earpieces plugged in

As above. This only happens with my Bose Soundsport earpieces, I've tried it with my HE350 Massdrop headset and my Marshall mode eq earpieces. Only the Bose causes sudden spikes in volume for both media and ring. Any solutions for this?
