just got off the phone with vz tech support. even after the update i am still loosing my data connection every day. this will be my 3rd phone now (for the same problem). after compleating the phone replacment with the tech, she advised me that esperion is AUTO DELETING my insurance due to the fact that the phone has been replace too many times. has anyone else had this happen to them? is this even legal? you have to see how mad i am right now. i only have the phone for 4 months! this is total BS! i feel a class action lawsuit coming on!

I don't know much about Asurion, but if you have had multiple claims, they can drop you. However, it sounds like these have been warranty replacements. If that is the case and you haven't turned in any claims with Asurion, I would think that they would owe you a refund of premiums. I may be wrong ... I am quite frequently.

There are multiple reasons for the data outages. Some of them on the phone side and some of them on the Verizon side.

As an example there is another thread in this forum showing a nation-wide outage this morning. (I have data.)

Some Verizon stores seemed to just replace the phone whenever they hear about a problem. The worst I heard of was someone who was on their 5th phone. How it could be a problem on the phone side that appeared 5 times is bewildering.

There was a statement that after installing the 5.5.893 OTA you would probably need to get your SIM card replaced. I installed the OTA and did not (yet) have a SIM card replacement.

Have you ever gotten a replacement SIM card in your phone?

Do you know other people in your area with Verizon 4G phones? Are they having similar problems to yours?

I do know that Assurion only allows 2 replacements in a single calendar year, and will drop coverage after the second - it happened on my son's line. However, why was Assurion even involved in this? They offer accidentally damaged or lost replacements. Manufacturer's defects are handled by the Verizon and Motorola 1 year warranty.

Have you been calling Assurion to get replacement phones, or VZW? That may explain it...

all replacments were done thru verizon, i only have the phone for 4 months. i waited for the update to see if it cleared up the problem and it did not. i guess i will try a new sim card next

Since your thread got sent to a distant location, please stop back at the Bionic area with your technical issues.

You may have your own personal lawsuit, but for it to become a "class action" suit, the same thing has to be happening to virtually all involved.

This is the first I have heard of a customer being "Auto deleted", so......

Best of luck, whatever happens,

I would suggest contacting Asurion and asking why they are dropping your coverage, also ask for a copy of the insurance policy and a letter that will serve as a notice of cancellation. There are provisions within the policy that specify why they can choose to non-renew the policy. Once you have that information you should be able to get more info on what steps you can take from there.

Generally they can not cancel the policy before the policy period has completed without evidence that you did something in you application for insurance that would constitute misrepresention, concealment, or fraud.
