so i had to go to verizon today to pick up a windshield mount for my wife, and for some reason they were really busy. the sales reps just ignored me as i walked about the store. i got bored waiting for someone to come and help me so i rooted 2 of the droids they had on display using SMUpdater.:D now they have 2 rooted droids running SHOLESmod 2.05:p
 
Hahaha! That's awesome!

The VZW store near me is always busy. I now go to the Verizon Plus store near my house. And before anyone mentions it, it is not an "Authorized Dealer". It is a true Verizon company store where they sell phone, DSL, Fios internet & TV, Direct TV, and also do VZ Wireless. The funny thing is, they have all that extra stuff they have to know, but they know more than the people at the VZW store about the Droid. One of them even has it rooted. Also, I never have to wait more than 5 minutes there, even though they have about 1/5 of the employees vs a VZW store...

I'm sure I will get slack for this, but ROFL! - :eek:
 
A lot of times people will go to these stores and then text random people, it's always funny to see the responses.

Also if they have computers check if people have logged into Facebook and give them a funny status - :P
 
i think everyone should go to their friendly neighborhood verizon store and root a droid thats on display, that way when a potential customer comes in and picks up that droid and plays with it, they'll be like "wow this things fast" and get one. hehehehehe. OC it to about 1gz and just leave it.
 
haha excellent. My local verizon (which is one of the newly remodeled corporate stores) installed the droid phones on its display to where you are able to walk off with the phone just by removing the battery hatch.

:D now everyone whos been on the fence about rooting and messing up their phone is going to go to a verizon store and root a droid on display just to get a feel of it before they do it to their own.:D
 
since 2.1 has been leaked for the eris, i think i'll put the file on my sdcard and go update some eris's that they have on display to 2.1.

You're assuming Apple fanboys know how to tie their shoes, let alone do something as relatively complex as rooting a Droid. :P
