Thinking about switching

DirtyDee

Android Expert
Hello network siblings. I am currently on Metropcs network with my Atrix HD and was thinking of getting two zero down refurbs (Sony Z and HTC one ) is there anything I should know besides it being more expensive than metro? And I tether a great deal would that be a problem with T-Mobile?

What's up DirtyDee. The only thing different domestically is that you get more roaming and 50mb of data roaming. Then there's SimpleGlobal, and I think the same methods you're using to tether on metro GSM to tether will work on T-Mobile. Btw are you going to do Jump?

i think someone is just trying to copy me :P. 4.3 just leaked for the international z, but the htc one has an unlocked bootloader so its kind of a toss up. the z's camera is better and waterproof so i went with that, the display on it is terrible but compared to my galaxy nexus im currently using this is going to be a fairly large bump in performance etc.

so if you had to pick for long term support the one is a better choice but imo the z is a slightly nicer device.

T-Mobile is firm on it's tethering policy, only 2.5GB on the unlimited plan, your normal cap on the "limited" plans, and 100MB on the $30 dollar prepaid plan. The big advantage would be the free texting and 2G data and cheap minutes when traveling internationally to one of the 100 countries supported.

Well gman Friday may happen then. I am kinda bummed i paid my metro bill a week ago in a intoxicated rush , Well shabby kinda yea I want the blocky Z for myself I really like the shape and that it's glass tho I am a clutz and refuse to use a case the htc one will be for my lady it took convincing her to even consider wanting over her motion..and she still doesn't want it .... Can't wait to see her fumble with blinkfeed

Wasn't for me I had them in the cart and it told me to pick different phones... I am sure it may happen again soon I hope

HTC One - Refurbished | T-Mobile

odd, both are still very much there for me under the refurbished tab. i had one i n my cart as well and its gone but i can still go and pick one out kind of deal.

edit: oh i see why now, says out of stock. wow did not expect them to get sold out so quickly, my order is still processing. hopefully it actually goes through. i dont have the money for any other phone

edit2: wooooooo http://awesomescreenshot.com/04c236ca54 sucks you didnt get in on the deal but im pretty happy i managed to.

That's awesome shabby much rather you have it because well you can actually do some thing with it since to me you are a true power user

ive been reading up on a lot of stuff, sony does things quite differently than samsung. hopefully by the tuime its back in stock and you snag one ill have 2nd init worked out to where we can use cm :)

for eveyr version of teh z except the tmobile one, hence my earlier comment of the htc one is unlockable and will have longer life span. sony supports their international versions pretty well, if you buy the C6603 there is 4.3 stock rom and they have the 4.4 stuff up on github for devs to use and build 4.4, both of which are completely useless for the c6606 though :/

the c6602 is the japanese one that has no LTE one, C6603 has lte on tmobile and is teh international model, C6606 is teh one sold by tmobile in america and supports att and tmobile lte.

Seems to be the case for Sony phones in the USA

yea, which is why im hopeful that 2nd init or something can be done, as soon as we have something working like that we can just use the other versions stuff :/

And I would be broke again lol 140 is just too great a deal to pass up

lol and i was so excited for ya too :D. my buddy happened to be talking of switching to tmobile so its what caused me to load up the pages and i saw both were in stock. total upfront cost was 27.50 for the xperia z for me, i imagine teh one being worth more would cost a bit more. that was for sim and sales tax on the full devices price.
